The choice of Investigating Collage for the Responding Experience was made because it gives the children a great opportunity to explore different ways that images and pictures and essentially art can be created. It is important to provide these different activities for children so that they can expand their knowledge of the world and create a picture, that everything does not have to be the same. It also helps in developing their concentration and observational skills. This activity links to artists Sara Fenelli and Vik Muniz.
The choice of the Texture Boards for the Making Experience was made because it is a really good activity to encourage the exploration of texture as the children can experience the different tactile materials and manipulate them. This is an important skill for children to develop so that they can learn to control materials, which will help them when they get older. It is also important for the children to experience something different from flat smooth paper, so their understanding of the world can grow and expand.
